Saturday 16th November
> Opening of new exhibitions
The exhibition Étonner la catastrophe, whose title is borrowed from Victor Hugo's Les Misérables, brings together five young artists: June Balthazard, Mégane Brauer, Mathilde Chavanne, Hippolyte Cupillard and Jordan Paillet: June Balthazard, Mégane Brauer, Mathilde Chavanne, Hippolyte Cupillard and Jordan Paillet all studied at the Institut supérieur des beaux-arts de Besançon (ISBA). Each of them, in his or her own way, embraces the major themes running through the work of the Besançon writer, which, regrettably, has lost none of its topicality. Through their films, installations and drawings, they evoke childhood and youth as they grapple with current environmental, societal and political issues. For each of the artists in this exhibition, a dialogue is proposed with a work by another artist in the Frac's collection.
The opening will be accompanied by a fashion show of works by Jordan Paillet. That same evening, the opening of the exhibition X! Un opéra fantastique by Gérald Kurdian and the Focus sur une œuvre du Frac A Truly Shared Love by Émilie Brout and Maxime Marion.
