PORTRAITS D’ARCHITECTES : Claude-Antoine Colombot (1747-1821)

    After studying architecture in Paris, Claude-Antoine Colombot trained with the Parisian architect Louis-Jean Desprez (1743-1804). He moved to Besançon in 1768, where he received numerous commissions. His rigour and inventiveness made him one of the best architects in the Comtois region, and helped introduce neo-classicism to Franche-Comté. Tickets: €9 - €6 for students, under-18s, members of the Tourist Office (on presentation of card), disabled visitors. Free for under-12s and jobseekers.
