The city of Besançon is a natural wonder. Nestled in a meander of the Doubs, the capital of the Comtois has the charm of a water city, to be discovered on foot or by boat. Capital of biodiversity
Built in an extraordinary natural setting, the city of Besançon is a beautiful plant. The second largest protected area in France, the city was designated the capital of biodiversity in 2018. The Trail des forts, the biggest nature race in eastern France
On one of the race courses mixing nature and heritage, surpass yourself in the middle of the Vauban fortifications, and cross the door of its emblematic Citadel classified by UNESCO. The 60 km long race will even take you to the 10 forts that protected the city of Vauban in the last centuries.
