We're delighted to welcome Lilian for the last date of his "Dans un moment de bonheur Tour".
And he finishes 'at home', in Franche-Comté, at the Grand Kursaal in Besançon!
The promise of a great time, and no doubt a few surprises...
Lilian Renaud, musician-singer from the Franche-Comté region, is the fifth of six children. It was at the age of six, spotted by his teacher, that he discovered the pleasure of singing. She was captivated by his voice, and his class was his first audience!
After that, it was his friends who asked him to sing, and he made all the trips to school more enjoyable with his renditions of songs, lyrics and music that he was already composing.
Until his teens, his musical culture was built mainly around rock (thanks to his family); at 13, he formed his first rock group, Les Messagers. Later, his affinities with folk music (Cabrel, Dylan and Chapman) led him to use his acoustic guitar to compose melodies and write lyrics in French and English. He was often in demand, performing at local festivals and venues.
Born into a rural family, it was only natural that he should choose to train as a cheese-maker when he left school. Excellent in the art of the trade, the president of one of the cooperatives where he worked as a substitute cheesemaker offered him the position of Master Cheesemaker.
It was then that the little voice that kept singing inside his head, his soul, told him to turn down the promotion. In a few minutes he resigned and decided to take a sabbatical year to join a school that would allow him to develop his musical skills. Subconsciously, he had been nurturing this dream for many years.
A fortnight later, he joined the Music Academy International in Nancy. On that first day, Bruno Berbères, casting director for The Voice, listened to him and immediately fell under the spell of his voice. He convinced him to try his luck and take part in the show.
During the blind auditions, all four coaches clearly showed their willingness to work with him. He emerged as the big winner of this 4th edition in 2015, with an unprecedented number of votes from the public.
His powerful timbre and cutting-edge vocal technique impressed both the professionals and the public. He then recorded his first album "Le bruit de l'Aube" on Universal (with the participation of Grand Corps Malade, Ycare); success was not long in coming, and he very quickly obtained double platinum certification.
He was also nominated for the prestigious Nrj Music Awards in 2015. He followed this up with a magnificent French tour of over 50 dates and an extraordinary success. In 2016, he recorded a second album, "Le coeur qui cogne", composed almost exclusively by himself (with the participation of Zazie).
This frenetic pace and the constant demands from all sides exhausted this solid young man, who had been a sportsman since childhood (junior gymnastics champion of Franche-Comté), so he took a two-year break to find himself again and take the time to set healthier long-term goals. He decided to self-produce his 3rd eponymous album "Lilian Renaud" in 2019 and return to his adoring fans.
He then built a close, trusting team around him, on which he could rely and move forward in complete serenity. So now he's back, more mature, more confident, with musical and artistic choices that are totally in line with his deepest values.
In the spring of 2021, Lilian will release his 4th album, "Dans un moment de bonheur", with French and English content. In it we find his first loves, his rich compositions with melodies that touch the heart and soul, and strong lyrics that challenge. A new national tour kicks off in January 2022, with a number of dates already scheduled.
With his two musicians, Lilian knows how to surprise and touch his audience. A sensitive, positive young man, he conveys his love of life and the hope he sees in every human being through every song and every concert.
