Masques et visages : Hugues Sambin et le foisonnement manieriste

Architect, decorator, joiner, engineer and designer, Hugues Sambin, an accomplished Renaissance artist, combined a multitude of talents. Originally from Gray, he had the opportunity to work in Fontainebleau under Primaticcio and to further his training with Serlio. He settled in Dijon, where he ran a large workshop and took on many commissions in Burgundy and Franche-Comté. This tour will introduce you to the work of the architect and sculptor Hugues Sambin and his influence on architecture in Besançon, as well as the late Renaissance in Besançon. Bookings must be made with the Greater Besançon Tourist and Convention Bureau.
