LECTURE-SPECTACLE : Le Marquis des bords de l’Elbe / Léonel de Moustier 39-45

  • ©

This story, alternately performed or read by four actors and a musician, recounts the involvement of the Marquis Léonel de Moustier, Member of Parliament for the Doubs region, during the Second World War. This commitment led him to refuse Pétain's full powers and, from his château at Bournel, to join the Resistance. He endured the ordeal of deportation and died of exhaustion in the Neuengamme camp. The montage of text, images and music brings to life, alongside the Marquis, his son Guy, who returned from the death camp, as well as other characters, real or imaginary, connected to this story of an exemplary Comtoise family. The deeds accomplished by the "Marquis Courage" in the name of honour and freedom do not fade with time.
