Festival Photographie Besançon 2024

Over the past 8 years, the Besançon Photography Festival has become the must-attend photographic event in Besançon. Once again this year, around fifty photographers will be exhibiting their work in some fifteen venues across the Greater Besançon area, including the Kursaal, which opens the festival. During the opening weekend, some thirty exhibitions can be viewed free of charge. Visitors can choose their favourite photographer. The winner will be invited to the 2025 edition. The winner of the Grain d'Pixel prize, chosen by a jury made up of members of the association from all the exhibitors in all the venues, will be announced. For the duration of the festival, the Hors les Murs (HLM) venues will be hosting exhibitions, the list and location of which are given in the catalogue distributed free of charge to all visitors to the exhibitions. Two photographers whose work we particularly appreciate are invited: For the weekend at the Kursaal, Pascal Regaldi will be offering a photographic stroll through his vision of humanity. For the duration of the festival, in the gallery of the Old Post Office, Michael Kenna, a world-renowned photographer who has chosen Besançon to accompany the release of his book on Venice. In this exceptional exhibition, he presents his vision of the Serenissima through 30 original prints.
