Exposition sur la France libre à l'Hôtel de Grand quartier général de Clévans #JEP2024

©

Besançon is a stronghold of the Franche-Comté region whose long military history has been closely linked to that of the French army for more than three centuries. As part of the commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Besançon, the staff of the 1st Division are organising an exhibition for the European Heritage Days at the Hôtel de Grand Quartier Général de Clévans in Besançon. The exhibition will focus on three themes: one room will be dedicated to Free France, a second to American and German combatants in Besançon/Franche-Comté and the third to General de Lattre's office, featuring documents on the man himself, the 1st DFL/1st Army, the Provence landings and the Liberation. The Commanding General of the 1st Division, Commander of the Besançon Place, is pleased to invite all residents of Besançon who are interested in discovering this private mansion.
