With "X! Un opéra fantastique", Gérald Kurdian, "a militant performer at the crossroads of disciplines, has imagined a unique object: a musical fable, a solo opera for a performer and an artificial intelligence that reinvents alternative mythologies for bodies that are deprived of them. She stages herself in an autofiction that oscillates between diary and epic fresco, documentary and 3D sets. Her character, straight out of a queer club, encumbered by a sword symbolising a deep-rooted wound, wanders through the open world of a heroic fantasy game. She navigates between the digital memory of a computer, nourished by the virilist imagination of Wagnerian opera, and the hope of an ecofeminist future, freed from the shackles of capitalism, which salutes the care given to intimacy and welcomes the vulnerability of each and every one of us. An initiatory tale, a journey of liberation for the hallucinated version of Gérald herself,
"X ! A fantastic opera" is an act of collective reparation, a portrait of marginalised activist scenes in the form of a manifesto for a sensitive revolution...".
