By Father Gérard Thévenin Saint Basil has just been celebrated on 2 January, at the same time as Saint Gregory of Nazianzus. Basil, known as "The Great" (died in 379), was a bishop of great stature: a fearless pastor, known as the "theologian", an inventor of social justice who defended the poor. Living in chaotic times for the Church, he steered the ship with faithful confidence. In many ways, he was a contemporary. A talk given by Father Gérard Thévenin.
