Nathalie and Yves are busy preparing a reunion dinner with Pierre, the latter's best friend. It's been ten years since the two men last saw each other. The evening will raise many questions, some of which will have surprising answers:
Should you introduce your best friend to the woman you love?
Should you have dinner every Thursday night with Bernard and Nicole?
Do poor people love each other longer than rich people?
Can you choose your successor when you leave your wife?
Is a writer necessarily funnier than an insurance agent?
Should you break up before or after dessert?
The framework is set, the tone of the humour can be guessed between the lines, the comedy takes shape and the love triangle invites itself into the narrative. As for the answers to these famous questions, they are revealed at the heart of a subtly constructed story that moves from surprise to surprise.
The plot winds its way through the story before unfolding its twists and turns for almost an hour and a half. The dialogue is lively and biting, with a touch of jubilant derision. Rhythmic and with no dead time, the play's reunion says much more than it seems. The result is a delicious comedy in which love, relationships, routine, friendship and ego collide and give food for thought.
