After training with the architect Jean-Pierre Galezot (1686-1742), Jean-Charles Colombot worked as an architect for the Maitrise des Eaux et Forêts, designing a large number of churches in the Comtoise countryside. At the same time, Jean-Charles Colombot took on commissions in Bisont. Between 1730 and 1760, a period of unprecedented urban development in Besançon, Jean-Charles Colombot distinguished himself in the construction of refined private mansions.
